Do not afraid to dream!!
There will be 10 students who are going to China for 11 days during school spring break 2015. The tour to China comes true through the grant awarded the by Global Citizen Network- Intercultural Student Experiences. (GCN-ISE)
Students have to get ready for the trip. Here is the process to share:
9/30 Tuesday
A parent meeting to answer all questions.
10/15 Wednesday
A first student meeting who have signed to the program to come for a meeting to discuss matter.
10/29 Wednesday
A Second student meeting to discuss the fund raising even on 11/5. It is a car wash at the school parking lot. Each student receives 6 tickets, each car wash costs 4 dollars. We also update the home stay letter writing to the host family. Students reported their passport application process and are reminded to get the media permission slip back to the leader as soon as possible.
11/13 Wednesday
It is the third meeting. All the students came to discuss the host family letter and the selling organic coffee and tea fund raising event during the conference time on 11/13 and 11/18 evening. There were two students on duty on 11/13. On 11/18, there were 4-5 students were present to help out the fundraising event.
On the same day, all ten participants came after 3 pm to work on the host family letter till 5:30 pm. Everyone worked very hard and forgot to take a picture to show you all.
11/25 Tuesday
A very brief meeting, 30 minutes, at the media center. The discussion on the organic drink fundraising order deadline, passport application process, the necessary traveling shots and the discussion on making video about their home life and school life.
12/10 Wednesday
A 30 minutes meeting at the room 2408. The participants are informed that the new blog page has been added to the host family page. The link from the ISE about the family stay experience has posted. The participants can post any concerns and questions. Their concerns will be addressed at the appropriate time. The high five are from the participants that the 20% program fee from all the participants have been collected and the check will be sent to the ISE soon. Washington has been awarded 550 dollars mini grant from the Confucius Institute for the Chinese New Year Event at Washington.
The discussion on home life video, school life video and the rest of the fund raising events before the trip.
a. The home life video will be finished after the winter break.
b. The school life video will be finished before the 1st semester is over. (End of the January)
c. The school announcement on the trip itinerary will be out the first week after the winter break. The group will be working on it together to pull the information together.
d. The coffee fund raising order should be in by the end of 12/12 to get the product before holiday.
e. The coupon fund raising needs to check into it with Ms. Johnson. Maine Xiong will look into it more.
g. The New Year Celebration Event promotion starts right the way after the winter break. Get poster ready during the break.
h. Update report to the leaders on the passport and the shots for the trip.
